Lauderdale Boat Show Hotels
Everyone asks which Fort Lauderdale Boat Show hotels are best, and the answer is fairly simple because the hotel you want to be at is one of the few within a short walk or shuttle.
Bahia Mar is an absolute dump although you can’t get any closer to the show. Pier 66 Resort & Marina is under construction and is also a bit isolated from the main portion of the boat show.
The Marriott is the site of a once good location at “Beach Place” but now is the site of failed retail concepts, poor dining options and a less than stellar social scene.
Rates certainly spike during the show; you have high profile yacht purchasers from around the globe in addition to the builders, salesforce and ancillary companies that support them staying in one concentrated area.
An alternative would be to stay in either Miami or West Palm Beach to arrive by train. The train, being Brightline, will add 30 minutes to your ride, but may save you on hotel premium costs.
The traffic at the Boat Show is atrocious so be prepared to take the provided bus shuttles to a distant parking lot if you drive, Ubers at a crawling pace, and the water taxi can get a bit busy as well. New to the city are scooters and electric karts.
If you’re making a day or night out of the show with your wife, girlfiend or kids, downtown Las Olas will provide all of your dining, shopping and small city feels that I would hope to get out of a new city.
