Exterior Profile:

Outside of a white hull, the grey hull keeps less heat and shows less fade opposed to a black or navy blue hull in the sun. Many have characterized the profile of a VanDutch to be simple, minimalistic and clean with it’s lines yet intriguing enough to look as if Bruce Wayne or Batman would own the boat.

The bow of the boat provides a great platform to allow the supermodels you have on your boat to sun themselves with additional, softer and more comfortable sun pads aft. At mid ship, the swivel table allows you to gather and eat, play cards and enjoy your guest’s company under the shaded bimini-top which deploys itself with the touch of a button at the helm.

Interior Profile

The interior of this particular VanDutch 55 is as desirable as it gets within class, characterized by the soft whites and air conditioning; you can sleep up to 6, with a queen bed forward, 2 berths aft and the large sofa if need be. With a full electric head, shower and privacy of a bathroom, once again, the super models will feel great as they work to look good.

Mechanics & Specs

This is a bit of inside knowledge I’m sharing with you but some owners neglect their boats; some owners spare no expense; this owner not only had a captain maintaining the boat but he had the boat washed each and every week. While I would say a bottom job (plus prop speed) will be necessary, I would imagine the generator will need some service as there are decent hours on her (2100) but engine service records (888 hours) are available for review as well.

Being that the boat is powered by twin 900 HP Volvo straight shaft engines and it has a fuel tank capacity of 660 gallons, you can make quick trips over to Bimini twice before needing to fill up again. The engines are located beneath the aft sunpad seat and you can gain access by hitting an automatic switch at the helm.

I make the same corny joke to everyone that the boat comes with a sauna too when you turn the engines on and sit in the engine room, which is never funny and should be retired but hey, that’s why I’m not being paid as a comedian.

The Brutal Truth:

VanDutch 55’s are expensive boats for what they are, however I and many others absolutely love them; while the sun and ample deck space for socialites is what makes it attractive, owners tend to outgrow the boat within 2 years in which they move up to a Pershing or Princess V which provide plenty of style but more onboard comfort before they eventually realize a flybridge yacht is the ideal play. So you will buy this, you will enjoy it, but you will move on, that’s a fact.

However, these boats are sexy and I absolutely love them as a male bachelor living in Miami. There’s sufficient charter demand if you’re considering going that route (never let anyone guarantee you charter performance) and additionally, VanDutch is the perfect boat to wrap for displaying or advertising your company or another company’s brand.
