How Corona Virus Has Impacted Yachting Industry

HOW IS CORONA VIRUS IS IMPACTING THE YACHTING INDUSTRY?

f you’re wondering how Corona Virus is impacting the industry, you should know that if one owns a yacht, it’s being used. They’re private, safe and are conducive to minimal interaction with others, making them a luxury safe house paired with perfect weather.

Potential buyers have dried up on my end, as the risk to fly down doesn’t really justify a depreciating asset. Servicing and technicians are proceeding on with work as there’s a silver lining for them.

What I haven’t seen first hand but have been told is that foreign crew members are being advised to head back to their counties or to cease work. Vessels in transit are having difficulty finding dockage as vessels previously there aren’t moving, so they are forced to sit on anchor in certain marinas.

All of a sudden, sustainable vessels with solar are beginning to make sense; sailing yachts and catamarans make a bit of sense too; Silent Yachts, Greenline Yachts or Sunreef 60-E. . I am limiting risk of interaction with most people not for fear for myself but for my loved ones, yours and because it’s the right thing to do. Nothing left for me but to create content, put pen to paper and to pray that this is overkill but welcomes overkill.
